Friends and Family Weekend

Back in April we had the opportunity to go to the family cabin for the weekend with a few friends and my in-laws. The cabin is always a good time. It is very relaxing, pretty easy to get to and a nice way to get refreshed. We arrived a Thursday night and headed into Leavenworth on Friday. Matt and Lauren had never been so it was nice to take some time going into the stores and enjoy the Bavarian village and food. Yummy brats!

There is a goofy little hat shop there so we spent some time trying on silly hats. Here is the King and Queen.

We played some fun games including a new one to us, Ticket to Ride, European version. Most have been beginner's luck, but I won!! Justin was a close second.

Saturday we went on a nice hike around Hidden Lake. There was still some snow on the ground in some spots, and the trail seemed to disappear several times, but we persevered and made it the whole way around. With a little trailblazing.

Would hardly be a blog entry without the patented self portrait.

We spent a little time on the lake kayaking, and here is a shot from an early morning jaunt that just Matt and Justin took. The time all 4 of us went was a little cold and windy, so we warmed up in the hot tub afterwards.
